My Experience at Digitalize Flanders
In Mechelen Antwerp, there was this super cool event for technology enthusiasts not long ago. It was all about diving deep into the digital world. Digitalize Flanders was where all the IT companies showed off their new stuff, and it was like a big hub of knowledge and meeting new people.
I was lucky to score an invite from Outkept, a company that's all about cybersecurity. What caught my eye was how they're tackling phishing in a unique way.

When I got there, they gave us these tickets with NFC tags, which made everything super easy to check out later. Plus, we could pick a lanyard color based on what we were into. I went with blue for IT & cybersecurity. The event was set up really smartly. They had five main topics, each with its own color. I hung out mostly in the blue section, naturally, since I'm all about cybersecurity.
Walking around, I got hooked on Outkept's booth. They're into sending out fake phishing emails to teach people about the dangers of real ones. It was cool to see a company so dedicated to keeping people safe online.
The best part was this live hack demo a company demostrated. They made it like a story, and I was totally into it. It gave me a real insight into how cyber threats work and why we need to be careful online.
By the end of the day, I was pretty wiped out from taking in so much info and chatting with folks. But as I headed home, I felt really grateful for the experience. Making connections, learning new stuff, and seeing cool solutions in action made the day awesome.
Events like Digitalize Flanders are super important. They're not just about meeting people; they help us understand the challenges and solutions in the tech world better. I can't wait for the next one, armed with all I've learned and ready to make the digital world a safer place.
